Methodenlisting

Durchführung Xenopus, FETAX Each definitive test was conducted following the protocol of ASTM The microplates containing embryos were covered and kept in an incubator at 24 6 0.58C without lighting. Test duration was 96 h, and test solutions in all microplates were renewed at 24- h intervals. Prior to and after solution renewal, test solutions of each control and the highest concentrations were checked for pH using a pH meter to confirm that the pH values of the solutions were within 6.5 to 8.5
Auswertung (Statistische Methode) On the basis of mortality and malformation incidence at each test concentration, the 96-h LC50 and 96-h EC50 for malformation values were calculated with 95% confidence intervals by probit analysis [25]. These values were used for comparative analyses of lethality and teratogenicity in the structurally related compounds.
Organismus Alter/Lebenstadium Dejellying of fertilized eggs and selection of normal-appearing embryos were performed according to the protocol of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) [18]. Embryos at stages 8 to 11 (midblastula to early gastrula) were used to start each test. Staging of the embryos was based on the normal table by Niewkoop and Faber
Organismus Herkunft Adult pairs of X. laevis were obtained from Shimizu Laboratory Supplies (Kyoto, Japan)
